The Central Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross receives thousands of requests for assistance to needy families each holiday season. These requests range from providing basic necessities to delivering holiday gifts to underprivileged children.
In response, the Central Oklahoma Chapter created the Holiday Stocking Program. American Red Cross volunteer sewing ladies sew over 5,000 stockings each season preparing for them to be filled with small toys, personal care items, school supplies and candy. The filled stockings are then distributed in December to needy families and agencies serving underprivileged children in our community.
